Hi Everyone, thank you all for all your reasurring replies following my recent pacemaker proceedure. I am feeling much better still sore but I am following all your good advice. Just one thing that is concerning me, has anyone experienced a popping or twitching feeling that had been happening daily but only lasts for a few seconds not around the pacemaker area but lower down around heart. not sure if its the pacing adjusting that i can feel ? thanks

You shouldn't be feeling the pacemaker working, quite likely twitchy nerves recovering after the trauma but always best to check with your clinic or GP if you think something isn't right.

Sending you all the best for a speedy recovery! if you continue to experience any new symptoms post procedure, it's always worth contacting the clinic for advice. Take care, Tracy

I had the LV pacing lead which caught the diaphragm. This wasn’t slight twitching - it was full on, can’t get my breath and body moving type twitching. Only way to describe it was similar to very strong hiccups all of the time. I rang the Pacing clinic and they got me in the next day to check and found it had to be turned off.

I have had very occasional sensation similar to what you describe when on my left side at night and just catch a certain position but it disappears as soon as I change position.

Your 6 week check at the pacing clinic will be able to test for you and adjust the settings if it becomes uncomfortable.

Thank you , yes it does seem to stop when i move but has happend when standing, sitting and laying down. If there was anything amiss I am sure it would happen more often x

My husband had pacemaker fitted 3 months ago and six week check was done over the phone. Mind you he does have a device like a mini-urinal which sits by the bed and is supposed to report on him every night to the mother ship!!

Mine is now monitored through an app on my IPhone & I now only go in once a year for checks.

My CPAP is also monitored remotely. The machine sends a report weekly.

Remote monitoring for all sorts of conditions is now commonplace.

I like it & find the monitoring reassuring but it’s also nice to talk face to face occasionally!

I think that is what we were hoping for. Although we pushed the button at 6 weeks and a lady rang immediately to say all was fine and did we have any questions!

My husband also received one of these weird devices which apparently does this checking thing. We had no instructions as to what it did but eventually managed to set it up by his bed and plug it in. We are just waiting for the 'beam me up Scott's command!😅

Dan was told to press the button after 6weeks. He did and was called immediately but the lady advised him that it was constantly monitored and he would be called if there was a problem. She was so good, answering a few questions we had too.

Good morning, I had my pacemaker fitted about 4 weeks ago, like you i do get odd 'feelings', around the heart. Went back to the Cardiologist and had the pacemaker checked and all fine. Mine is set at 80 - 120 BPM and no doubt will be adjusted next visit. Its probably getting used to the pacemaker and your heart being managed by it.

Best wishes

Dave
