Does anyone else get random episodes of mild shortness of breath without being in AF?
I am young relatively fit and no other heart or lung conditions.

I'm not in a fib and I can walk anywhere I want , but last week I crawled under a gate and when I stood up I was short of breath , weird things like that can make me short of breath , Maybe it's the flecinide and Bisoprolol.
You will find, in time, that flecainide acetate no longer works, and you may have a Cardiologist that puts you onto Amiodarone, check up on Amiodarone on Google, it does give you a lung disease, (pneumonosis), and after a couple of years you will be taken off it if you are lucky. I suffer shortness of breath also but I have copd as well and my saturation is very good. I am now on Amiodarone for the second time, (first time was for four years) as there seems to be no alternative in my case. Dronedarone and Nebivolol were useless.
Yes, I find walking uphill can cause it although less now that I have stabilised things with Flecainide, supplements and lifestyle changes. I use a very lightweight Nordic Walking pole, which helps a lot.
A pole? Two are much better-- like four wheel drive. Been using them for twenty years and now my legs are shot I couldn't do without them anyway. Lightweight carbon fibre are best and they are one size fits all as they are telescopic.
Bob
Yes agreed Bob, I use two when exercising on my own and one when walking with somebody, as with two I go too fast!
Nordic walking as its known burns far more calories than just walking (as you are exercising the upper body as well). I would also recommend one of your walks before breakfast if anyone is trying to loose weight
Im in nsr and sob, its not the flecainide in my case as I have it when im flec free. No idea what it is for me. Ive had xrays and my oxygen saturations are normal. ??? Ive considered impaired cardiac function, remenents of the flec that have caused a short term reduction in HR and even anxiety but never an answer. I'll keep u posted if I get an answer. I also have an abnormal feeling in my chest all the time which I feel are the minor changes that have occured in my atria due to having paf. All unproven ideas I hasten to add!
Sounds like me too and I am old and fairly fit! I take Bisoprolol and Flecainide and blame both of them, but as the breathlessness is mild and intermittent I suspect it is the combination of AF/drug side effects. Walking uphill is sometimes mildly difficult - other times it's OK. I've stopped trying to work it out!
Finvola that is exactly the case. I cycle a lot and gym three times a week and no problems, however I have random episodes of sob( even at rest) which feel like I should be in paf but I am nsr.
I cannot tolerate bisoprolol as my normal blood pressure is 100/60 and it drops too much even on 1.25 mg. I am on flecanide twice daily and am finding it is slowly less effective as small ectopics creeping in but no Paf since April so I expect it's combination of flecanide and paf creeping back then.
