hello is anybody else having similar issues whilst on Prodaxa please?

I have had 5 positive urine tests in last few months. I had an abdominal scan and all clear. Going for more tests at urology soon. GP has not yet ruled out its the Prodaxa.

She said NHS are still on a wait and see with the NOACS.

Just wondered what your experiences are, ta !

Enjoy the camera---NOT! Been there done that got the T shirt. Many times sadly but then I had prostate cancer. I'm sure it will be fine as my last one was.

As a friend of mine put it "The camera isn't a problem - it's when the sound team follows you start to worry!" :)

LMAO

I have mentioned Apixaban being kinder on the kidneys to GP, but she has not offered to change. Yes, camera next, not looking forward, it won't be prostate though lol !

Hi Poppyseed, I have had several tests where they have dipped and found traces of blood but then they send a new one to the lab and nothing is found. but then they say I might have had an infection. I'm on pradaxa. now you have raised this I think it might be a good thing to look into further with the GP. Hope everything goes ok with your tests

Mine was sent off a couple of weeks ago and nothing found, but the trace keeps showing up, at different clinics too. It was flagged by rheumatologist specialist/ autoimmune clinic, continuance clinic and now positive tests with GP.

Pradaxa made my gums bleed like crazy, I looked like Edward Norton in FIGHT CLUB - also made my piles worse. Am on rivaroxaban now with no problems

Hi Poppy, I have never had blood in urine previously but the last 3 tests I had showed blood which appears to coincide with me starting on Apixaban.

Had a scan also but nothing and most folk say...ah it will clear itself , just drink plenty. Never appreciated it may be the Apixaban causing it.

let us know how you get on, thanks Dougie

Been taking Pradaxa for 5 months now, during which time I've had three kidney and liver function tests all of which came back normal. What's your fluid intake like? I seem to drink a lot more water since taking Pradaxa....keeping hydrated is really important both for AFib and NOACS.

Hope they get this sorted for you! All the best, Marilyn

I am not a good drinker of water, only a few drinks of tea day, so you may have a good point.

Thanks
