I have been on Apixaban since the end of last year apart from some bruises when I knock myself no other side effects certainly don't bleed heavily if I cut myself.

I am on Omeprazole, Bisoporol and --- Metoclopramide (which I think I won't continue with as like Domperidone (which I had been on before the Afib diagnosis) think it also increases my Afib)

I do wonder if my hair is not as thick but nothing obvious.

All these drugs and decisions are very hard and I personally find that there is a lack of medical support for all these day to day problems and how all the drugs interact with each other.

How long u been on Bisprolol

I so agree. I think all my drugs give me severe fatigue but it's hard to prove.

Hi,

I changed from Warfarin to Apixaban in November and have been fine with it. Side effects are listed in the literature with the tablets.

Hope it goes well for you

in reply torosyG

Rosy G did u have many of the side effects they put me on Digoxin but scared of it see heart doc on 25 June so will know I hope then what this Af is

No side effects at all. Very happy with apixaban

Don't worry about AF. Put questions on here about anything you are concerned about as people with same symptoms will be able to tell you how they've dealt with particular issues

It's hard at first but not too bad when you know what's going on in your particular case

Take care

in reply torosyG

Thank you so much Rosy G u have helped so much

I've been taking Apixaban for 18 months with no side effects and have had a tooth extraction and minor injuries which caused no problems. Had a bad noosebleed from an allergy but it too stopped of its own accord. Like other NOACs it leaves the system quite quickly (about 12 to 14 hours for Apixaban) and I'm happy with it.

Best wishes with it.

I have been on Apixaban since November last year and so far all good.

Thank you Snowhammer I am new to it but feel better about taking this than the warfarin with having to have all the blood tests and I haven't had any side effects up to now

I was on digoxin and diltiazem by cardiogist at hospital to get heart rate down I'm asthmatic

Also warfarin

Then left on these after a cardio version returned me to AF but I dropped back into AF after four days or so

Doc said nothing they could do and discharged me from his care after a very short discussion

Dismayed and on drugs I knew nothing about i started to study AF and headed to a EP

Who took me straight off digoxon

Tons of help on here but everyone's differant so you have to seek out what's best for you

I believe my AF started by overuse of a blue inhaler and a difficult walk I did in 2012 being overweight didn't help

I forced myself off all asthma drugs and studied butako method of nose breathing

The blue inhaler elevated the heart rate and is just a bad boy altogether

And the more you use the more you need

So hope you find the best help you can get

Hi suesteve,

I have been on apixaban for 15 months now, do not take anything else, have had no listed symptoms, but have had stomach problems since january. Had blood tests etc, so doctor said I have ibs symptoms, also have had aching muscles, which have all passed. I am the only one in the area on this tablet. I did feel very alone for a long time, then I discovered this site, and don't feel alone now. I try to take things slowly because of bruising. Good luck.

in reply towaterlady

Water lady I have not had any side effects either and it seems much better than blood tests every week

Are you on statins?

Sometimes I have a heady feeling that I've been hanging upside down, especially for the first couple of months. I'm also on statins so it could be them.

On the whole I'm happy with them as there's no need for blood tests etc

PeterWh profile image

To me (and I was on simvastatin) that sounds like the statin.

Thanks Ste.

Re;Heady feeling . Statins.

It's not as bad now , maybe because I'm used to them or the fact that because my cholesterol level is down to 4.2 I've started to break a piece off each night. I've a blood test next week ,so see how it is And adjust accordingly
