Unable to travel

Unable to travel yesterday morning as planned, not because of AF but because of a stupid cold!!

Arrrr.......... As most of you know i don't usually let much slow me down but had a few breathing scares recently so reluctantly cancelled our trip to Spain.

C'est la vie.........

Oh what a shame. Get well soon and off to Spain. Do you have a home there seem to remember you go often. Which part of Spain do you go to I love the country. Intended living half the year there as part of our retirement plan before AF came on the scene.

Fingers crossed you get back there very soon. Rest in the meantime.

I have a home in Spain and spend several weeks at a time there. I have short bursts of af nearly every day. The air travel does not affect my af and up to now my pip regime has stopped any serious episodes. The medical centre is quite near to where I stay and I am able to get insurance at a reasonable price.

I suppose what I am saying is 'don't let your af control your life - follow your dream'. But of course, your situation may be very different to mine.

Thanks Nan, I have always travelled with AF but it wasn't that which stopped me. I have an autoimmune disease which weakens my muscles and I had probs with my diaphragm and chest muscles because I was coughing so much because of a cold. I couldn't have walked down the stairs, never mind to the plane!

I much better today.

What a shame, especially since it wasn't AF that caused you to defer your trip. Hope you feel better really soon and manage to book another holiday before too long.

I'm sure your Spanish friends will be saying hasta manana, CDreamer!

Sorry to hear about the cold and that you've been having unwelcome moments.

Tough luck CD. Hope you get to re-arrange in the not too distant future. Love Spain and the Spanish.

What bad luck. If it is not one thing it is another.

Thank you guys for your empathy and concern. Today I could fly, Sunday I couldn't. Yes we have a home in Spain, an apartment on the Costa del Sol, a small, still very Spanish still village about 15 mins drive west of Marbella.

A tip for you, my husband had been very grumpy on Sat because he couldn't use the online check in. Turned out to be a blessing as because we hadn't checked in, the airline have given us a full credit to use later in the year. And because I only took out Travel Insurance last Thursday and there is a 14 day cooling period they gave me a full refund, even though the date of the start was passed.

Moral- never check in until day of travel or at th airport and only take out holiday insurance just before before you travel. AND today it will be as warm here as in Spain only sunnier as it is cloudy in Spain. So having a day out on the sunny East Devon coast.

Is someone looking after me or what?.............
