But has anyone noticed that by talking a lot can actually either cause flutters/missed beats or full blown AF
I talk quite a lot at work, conf calls etc all day, and have noticed the difference in my heart activity to when I am at home, in particular in my sick periods, seems so odd.

I know defo an odd one, as on two occasions when I ahve been off work for a while, the AF even came back or was triggered after having a prolonged spell of symptom free, and the only thing I do at work is talk more, sat on my bum all day so nothing strenuous.
Perhaps some people at work would like to me to talk less haha
Yes, in the days before I took drugs to control things I noticed that sitting chatting could trigger palps. I assume it is something to do with breathing, stress and posture - eg holding the breath slightly longer whilst listening or talking too fast, or just stressful irregular breathing. Pestilential, isn't it?
Dear Mick, I am not sure talking makes my AF worse, but I have noticed after talking for a while I can sometimes feel unwell which I never got before the AF. I do teaching as part of my role and after a 2 hour teaching session I am left feeling quite exhausted - or is this just my age now!
If I'm in full flow in a conversation I have to stop myself and slow down because I know it will bring on flutters and eptopics. I think because I'm retired and dont get a chance of conversations very often, I get a bit carried away and forget to breathe ! But joking apart, it does make a difference and I too think it's the breathing. AF follows you everywhere!
Yes I do find that talking a lot (more than normal) can make my heart feel fluttery, even if not full blown AF. And singing hymns at a funeral recently was even worse! Since AF I generally find I feel breathless, or more accurately 'short of breath', more often than before AF. Even when I am not doing anything active. And I no longer take Bisoprolol as that made things far worse.
That is how I ended up being first diagnosed! Met my friend for tea and I was chatting away, filling her in with all the gossip and just said I'm going to faint, so she said shut up talking and eat! Later that night I fainted, needed an ambulance, was taken to A&E and diagnosed with AF!
