I have had AF since 2006. Was on sotalol first 6 years. Since had two ablations and several cardioversions. Second ablation January 2014, cardioversions Feb 2014 Dec 2014. AF flutter also since 2nd ablation. In NSR til Jan 5th then bpm 150-160 resting continuously til Jan 18. Couldn't cardiovert as INR levels not in range so put on sotalol 80mg 3 times a day. Since that day my bpm 50-60 all the time 😊 I have an ablation date 26th March. My dilemma, booked to go Florida July 29th for two weeks. First family holiday abroad in 12 years. So do I postpone the ablation til late summer, staying on the sotalol which is working for me or have the ablation knowing healing time at home is just four months before I fly...

Have the ablation and enjoy your holiday. Many people go back to work quite soon after ablation although I would say two weeks is minimum time to rest. Four months should be ample. You may also find that you will not get travel insurance if you are waiting for a procedure but OK once done.
