Help ! Have been bleeding steadily for 2 hours now above a tooth, where I have an infection , enough to drip onto tissues ! Oozing more than dripping , but getting a tad concerned as I'm on rivaroxaban . Do I sit it out or face the A and E ?

Have you tried putting pressure on to stop it? I dropped something on my big toe and there's lots of bruising but the nail acted to stop it ( am on apixaban, another NOAC )
If it doesn't stop with pressure perhaps get it looked at but try cold water and pressure first??
use Cold water as cold as you can get it, nothing hot. Sounds like an abcess that has burst.
How are you doing? I hope it stopped in the end and you didn't need to go to A&E?

How are you doing has it stopped yet ? I agree use cold water if your worried you could ring your dentist for advice will have come across NOAC, that idea ringing the dentist sounds better then a trip to A&E

Thanks for your replies. The actual socket of the tooth was bleeding or rather leaking and continued for 12 hours. With the aid of various dressings padded around the tooth I was able to get some sort of sleep , so by the early hours A and E was a distant dream thank goodness. I have made an appt to see the dentist as I know my tooth is lose and dying so it will be removed at some stage. The trouble with the NOAC's is that the blood won't clot so it seems worse than it really is , or that's what I was telling my partner ! Which is why we take it in the evening as there is a lesser chance of hurting one's self and bleeding ! I shall be posting again no doubt when I have the tooth out !
