My AF attacks seem to happen after my evening meal,i take 2.5mg,bisoprol each morning,and seem to eat lunch, no problem,i was wondering if i need to take another tablet in the evening,because they only last about 10 hours,can you make sense of that.it seems to me that by the time i have dinner they have worn off.

The bisoprolol merely slows you heart rate when in AF . It doesn't control the AF as only a rhythm control drug can do that so it may just be that you are more tired at the end of the day when you have dinner. It could also be that maybe you eat too quickly or too much which triggers it. We are all different and some people find they fare better when they graze rather than eat large meals. Do speak to your doctor before changing any drug regime though please.

AF seems to love two things.....heavy meals and the night. You're making it too easy for him.
Try having your main meal at lunchtime and ensure that any meal taken after 6pm is very light. Also, take your bisoprolol later in the day so that it provides its best rate control overnight. If you're not experiencing any adverse side effects, talk to your doctor about increasing dosage to 3.75Mg. Bob's quite right of course, bisoprolol doesn't control AF but a slow heartbeat, for me anyway, always means less chance of an episode.
