How do you feel? Is AF causing a deterioration in your quality of life? Do you feel ill?

You may have something going on inside your heart that is not "normal" (whatever that means) but that, in itself, doesn't define you as "ill", does it?

Depends what they told you. Have you been diagnosed with AF? It is important to engage with the people who treat you so that both you and they understand the problems. Since you have anticoagulation your biggest worry is under control (stroke risk) but exactly what did they say? You are not on any heart medication so it is difficult to say one way or the other. What symptoms did you have, why were you are the heart clinic etc? What does you GP say?

On an interesting point of order I always consider atrial fibrillation is a condition not an illness but maybe I'm picking hairs here.

To my mind, an illness is something that makes one feel unwell and a condition is something that one lives with and deals with as best one can by lifestyle or diet, medication, meditation, determination, alternative therapies, whatever makes it better for you. Don't we all go through various stages of disbelief, horror, despondency, acceptance, optimism and so on?

It sounds, Tupelo, as if the tests you were worrying about went quite well and perhaps things are not too bad if you are only on Rivaroxaban.

They said my heart is working normally. No problems except my heart sometimes is irregular. They found it when I had a severe chest infection. But I feel fine. Thank God.

Then get on with your life and enjoy every day. If it comes back then you may have to deal with it but if you feel fine don't worry about it.

Your ticker can go a bit wonky if you're ill. Or at least mine has in the past. Had to wait some weeks once when I had a virus that I reckon I was given by an insect bite in Madeira. If I hadn't already had heart issues, I guess I'd have just felt ill and not thought of my ticker!

Hope you feeling a bit better Tupelo.
