Problems all night

my AF triggered several times during the night ended up standing at the open window, Today it has been playing up all morning. Have taken my Nitrolingual spray and it has helped a bit. typically it is a weekend and no regular GP to consult. Bit scarey. Just sitting in a chair chilling don't know what else to do

Oh what a bummer. How long do your episodes usually last and how debilitating are they? X

Never feel you are making a fuss. We have every right to! If you begin to feel faint or panicky maybe you should ring an emergency doc or go to A and E. Let us know how you go on.x

How nasty for you. I've tried being busy and ignoring AF sometimes - unless you feel awful or so worried that you really need advice. A while ago my other half had more serious health issues and I didn't want to bother him with mine and carried on as if I was fine.

What medication do you take and have you been instructed to top up with extra?

There's a sea salt technique talked about on the forum - you might like to have a look.

I was thinking more of a rhythm control drug, like flecainide which lots of us take.

Hope things have long since settled.

Hi, I would really like to know about the sea salt technique, I take calcium channel blockers and I've heard somewhere that drinking some salt water can sometimes help with AF. Is this the same as the sea salt technique?

Many thanks.

I've no experience of this but put 'sea salt' in the Search HealthUnlocked box at the top right and several posts come up.

good advice so far.. you could also try blowing hard but keeping mouth shut and bearing down as if constipated!! affects the Vagus nerve and sometimes can help,

Sorry you are suffering.. best wishes

Ugh! So sorry to hear your AF is kicking up. For me, it seems to come and go as it pleases, and it rarely happens at a good time! I hope you get to feeling better soon. And, if you become concerned, I would not hesitate to go get checked out! No matter what your age. Not worth risking it should there be something happening that you may not be aware of. - Best wishes! - KeL
