I have been told to stop the 2x100 Flecainide and 1x2.5 Bisoprolol two months after my ablation. I asked if I would be able to use Flecainide as a pill- in- the-pocket in future if another AF incident occurred. The answer was " yes, of course." I therefore intend to keep some Flecainide in reserve as this will give me confidence - just in case!!!!

Best wishes.

Oh I will also have my stash of Flecanide just in case too post ablations.

10 years ago, I stopped Propafenone, which I'd been taking for 2-3 years just before my ablation, and never took another pill. No weaning at all.

I come off both flec and Bisoprolol next month, I have to say I'm a bit nervous about it. I think I'll ask about flec as pip.

Cass, will you let us know how you manage the transition to NO TABLETS? I am inclined to tail them off gradually rather than an abrupt cessation. I don't know about Flecainide but you are supposed to reduce beta blockers gradually. A gradual reduction is obviously going to be less of a shock to the system, isn't it?

I'm only on 1.25mg Bisoprolol now Jenny, down from 5mg originally. I was almost comatose on that high a dose and my blood pressure was through the floor. So looking forward to being drug free x

it is a really nice feeling when you do give up flecainide completely. It does feel very odd, but it makes life much easier - and you can always take it if needed.

My doc says I had to stop my 2.5 bisoprolol cause he reckoned that's what was causing my eptopic beats, but continue with the flecainde, but the last 3 days I'm now waking up with a slow irregular beat, which goes away once up and about, it's really depressing I went 5 wks in Nsr before this too.
