Hello,
Just wondering if it's worth pressing for a referral back to cardio rather than my GP changing meds or increasing existing meds or is it normal for GP just to monitor existing PAF.

I think that depends on your own wishes. If you feel that you may want to go the ablation route or if you are not satisfied with your current treatment then yes ask for another consultation.

My Usual GP is very good with regards my medicine and Heart conditions and has regulated my heart with changes that have worked and referred me when ever needed. I am still seeing heart specialist and waiting to see an image specialist to find out what else is screwing up their efforts.
My only problem was I have a lung condition that he insisted was all my heart! I took me 2 years to get a test and confirmed I have Restrictive Lung Disease as well. The 2 do not help each other and the drugs conflict at times.
GP's can be good at some conditions but by their name they are General Practitioners and cannot be masters of all.
