Why would I be prescribed rampril. ,last year my resting pulse was low 30's-now it's low 90's blood pressure quite low.


Did you not ask the doctor who prescribed it ? The drug assists blood pessure among others.

Seems strange to me as well. As you are on this forum I assume that you have AF. The NICE initial recommendation for rate control of AF is a a beta blocker such as Atenolol rather than an ACE inibitor like Ramipril. Suggest that you question your doctor about this

I was given Bisoprolol and Flecainade. The doctor didn't realise my heart in AF didn't go above 90. When I told him that in a later appointment his face was a picture. Don't take anything now only an anti coagulant.

Ramipril doesn't slow the heart the same way as bisopralol. Ramiprilmis if I remember rightly a calcium inhibitor, whilst bisopralol is a beta blocker, so they act differently. You would have been given this because of your low heart rate. By all means query it but don't stop without informing your gp
