Until I was put on new drugs, I got the wobbles after every meal no matter what I ate, and I don't over-eat. It would just pass after half an hour or so. Some people are set off by particular foods though, but not me I think.

Has your AF gone away now, or has it continued?

it's still here almost 24 hrs. later.I was in constant AF fro 8 months. my M D says I don't stay in good rhythm long enough to make it worthwhile to do another electroconversion . I just should learn to live with it.

Have you considered ablation. I don't see why you should learn to live with it. What meds have you tried, have you seen an EP. Lots of people on here to advise you on meds.

I had ablation 4 months ago and much better- couple of episodes but fingers crossed that it is working. Don't give up an making this easier. Be well.

Sorry to hear that. Yes the rich meal could have been the trigger. I find that once I eat lunch I feel drained for the rest of the afternoon. If I want to go on a long walk it always has to be in the morning. I usually find I can go 4-6 weeks between attacks of AF.

what is a Hheavy meal that can trigger AF? What is some of the food I could eat do you know I've never thought about food triggering it? I feel absolutely completely drained, short winded, and I just don't know what to do?

Sorry to hear that Shadski... AF can be food related it seems, there are all sorts of triggers though it is a really individual condition. Just take it easy and I hope it eases off. Has your doctor ever discussed ablation?

shadski,

How long have you been in AF 24/7? I was 24/7 and very bad too, 10 years ago. I was probably in 24/7 AF for 6 months, maybe a year, I really don't know because I didn't realise what it was and was too busy to find out!!!!

My EP, apparently one of the most experienced in the UK, said that because my AF was 24/7 it would be easy to fix with an ablation because they would know immediately whether they had got it or not. He did an ablation to get me off the drugs which were working but giving me unacceptable side-effects, and hey presto he was spot on, the AF went away immediately and 100% for 8 years without drugs (except AG's).

Is there another, good, reason you can't be considered for other treatment/ablation. Are you seeing an EP? If not, I would ignore anything anyone else says, especially any sort of GP or lower level or general doctor. Personally, I also wouldn't take any serious advice even from a normal cardio.

Hi well about 5 hrs after I wrote that I went back into regular rhythm and have been regular for 2 days now. I had persistent AF for 8 months - my original trigger was pulmonary embolisms. I had an electroconversion that only lasted for 2 weeks. that's when he told me I needed to be on meds and have AF for the rest of my life. I had an appointment to talk with my Dr. abouthy he doesn't like ablations. Then my heart started being regular rhythm again by itself. Until that heavy meal.
