Its the first time I have heard us AF people mentioned in the main news on BBC. Let's hope it triggers a lot of interest.

Yes, it's got plenty of coverage today on TV and radio. Very good. Not many people seem to know about AF.

a bit annoying that they said causes were binge drinking and old age!! nothing about hypertension/ heart problems etc!! Just gives GPs another let out clause to ignore it!!

I too saw the program and got a little annoyed with the binge drinking reference. So basically when I tell people I have AF they will assume I'm an excessive drinker! OK I'm no Saint, but if a friend told me he had AF after that article I would assume he just drunk too much.

I agree with RosyG. I was extremely cross about the causes being given as binge drinking and old age. Makes it all our fault when just from reading the forums one realises there are many causes. Why didn't the BRF spokesmans at least say something and why wasn't some one from AFA there?

Yes I couldn't agree more as my AF has a totally unknown cause with no other propblems
