I need some health insurance for Ugan... - Atrial Fibrillati...
I need some health insurance for Uganda, can anyone suggest an af friendly company?
Oh just to mention I live in Britain so a UK company please.
Hi Liz
I bank with Nat West and as part of my monthly fee I get travel health insurance, and I simply rang them and declared it, and they added an additional fee of about £50 for the year, which I thought was reasonable. And yes I have had to claim without any problems. Reccomended

Thank you. I have it with tsb so you've given me courage to try them first.
Not sure about AF but Marks and Spencers were only insurance company who were reasonable when member of family was recovering from Chemotherapy- worth asking if the other suggestions don't work out
Hello Liz,
I just got insurance for a 10 week trip in Asia with Avanti - despite AF and a galaxy of other ailments.
Have fun in Africa

I have always got cover with Bupa
I have all my insurances with NFU Mutual,(Which recommended), and had no problems when I was eventually diagnosed with AF many years ago. Added travel insurance, that also covers me for voluntary work abroad, without any problem.
These are all really helpful, am going to try the bank insurance but I am alreadya customer with nfu with house and horses so that would be good too so have contacted them as well.
We had travel insurance with Lloyds, but when I phoned them they told me they would not cover me, I called payingtoomuch.com and they quoted me £48 for a three week trip.
Id go with a local company - they pay the bills directly, not on reimbursement.
I have had a cover with IAA-Resolution and the coverage is pretty good.
