Somebody once told me you can always stop taking warfarin but you can't undo a stroke. Just because you don't have AF doesn't mean that the risk has gone.as the AF will have caused changes to the inside surface of the atria which could still facilitate clots forming. If you ever were given a score you can't delete it so if for example you scored one for high blood pressure but take tablets to keep it normal, that score of one still stands. My consultant told me I could stop if I wanted to but to be frank it causes me zero problems but two things worry me more than death and they are stroke and dementia.

With you there, Bob. Stroke or dementia worry me stiff - much more than death.

Completely agree

I'm having the same case as you , AF then. Ablation then frequent SVT but I will never dare to think about stopping the warfarin at all

We can't guarantee the AF since it may came back anytime in addition to those SVT which may cause clots also

My advise take warfarin with a smile and thank god it is there to protect us , actually I'm taking it since 13 years with minor side effects nothing to mentioned

Regards

You should discuss that with your doctor , as far as I know SVT have the same clothing risks as AF

I'm not a doctor but your doctor may have another point of view
