Please can anyone offer advice re the stress test?

It is easy one , just the same as using the training machine at the gym

Just wear comfortable shoes and try to walk as much as you can and inform the technician for any chess discomfort if any

My mistake I got tired and didn't continue the full test just because my legs got tired

DO NOT under any circumstances stop walking. I did once and they had to scrape me off the opposite wall. LOL

Just take it easy and tell them when you feel tired. They will tell you to keep going "you are nearly there" etc etc and then eventually they will slow the machine down and stop it and then you sit or lay down whilst they continue to monitor you heart as it slow down again. It takes about 15 minutes usually.

One thing I found during test is that it is important to pace yourself. When I had my test I was trying too hard and tiring quickly, so the nurse suggested I relax a bit and breathe deeply but not too fast and to use my full stride. I found it much easier after that.

I didn't have to pace myself as the technicians did it for me, and stopped it when I looked pale. Much to my surprise they said the results were normal as I was so out of breath it was painful. A lot worse than the last time I did it

I thought I was fine until I did this and strode briskly into it only to be gasping about one minute later, which was when the hospital after two years of playing about, transferred me to Papworth.

Stress test?? What's that all about then? When did you guys get given that to do? I give myself all sorts of stress tests like digging up tree roots and cycling to the shops but have never had an official one!
