After my first ablation I went back to work after just over 2 weeks. I had a desk job and didn't have to do anything strenuous. I'm surprised that you have been off work for such a long period, but then only you know how you're feeling energy wise right now.

Do you have a physically challenging job and did you work right up to having your ablation?

I believe that even people without AF have minor palpitations sometimes and they are quite harmless.

I would agree with Jean here as there is nothing to stop you working after a couple of weeks unless you do strenuous work or lots of lifting etc. This is really a matter of how well you feel and if your GP agrees that you shouldn't be working. . I know people who went back to work sooner than that but I feel that at least two weeks total rest is a good idea and play yourself in gradually after that. This is all about taking control of your life and not letting AF rule.

I confirm the above , since I had my ablation ten days ago and my doctor advised me for a week to rest then joining the work and he confirmed that usually three days rest is enough which I don't agree with him as a patient

Actually I add another week from my side and planning to join work next Sunday ( mine is office work also )

I'm also still having irregular beats which I think are not dangerous and should get famailier with during recovery time

The Doctor informed me that it is better to go to work than sitting at home monitoring my heart beats and get more worried and anxious lol , it seems that he knows me good ;)

Anyway I think all of us are the same in this worries

I agree with all the replies .I took 2 weeks off work and then returned to a rather physical job. I am a chef so quite a lot of heavy lifting involved and on my feet most of the day .In the last 3 months since my ablation I have had bouts of AF and quite a lot of ectopic beats etc. although not much in the last 3 weeks. I would have found the worst thing about staying at home is to much time to think and then anxiety kicks in which in turn can start AF off and contributes to feeling much worse than perhaps I really am.

Yes the idle mind problem. Be busy then you won;t notice a lot of the little irregularities.
