Never had so many aches and pains, just about everywhere! I have been on antibiotics, finished them this week, could these weird pains be due to those or to the warfarin? Does any one have any idea?

Lots of new pains, is it warfarin?
Hi Dirose, My best advice to you is to please see your physician. Aches and pains on warfarin is always an important possible side effect and your story of just finishing antibiotics makes it more important. Risk of a bleed when taking antibiotics with warfarin is increased by several percent, depending which class of antibiotics you were on. It may just be a coincidence and nothing at all, but I always tend to err on the side of caution. Best to get checked.
Hi dirose, I agree with SRMGrandma, go and see your Dr, my maxim is always to err on the side of caution.

Eileen
Hi dirose, I was prescribed warfarin and from day one the pain in my joints was terrible, my doctor told me that it was nothing to do with the wafarin. I then contacted my heart doctor at my hospital and he told me that lots of people are intolerant to warfarin and prescribed me pradaxa, I have now been on this medication for two months and have no more pain than I did before i was put onto blood thinners, I feel really good and have less risk of a brain bleed or a stroke. I strongly advice anyone who is having a tough time with wafarin to have a word with their doctor about changing to pradaxa but, your doctor may try and persuade you to stick with warfarin because it is a lot less expensive than pradaxa. Don`t be fobbed off, insist that you be given a trial with pradaxa and if you react to it the way I have you will be feeling a lot better within a few days.
Has anyone experienced anything similar while on Warfarin? I want to be able to tell My doctor when I see him tomorrow. W hat else could it be? my doctor told me that the antibiotics called 'Ciprofloxin' could cause tendon pain, I gave those up immediately, two or three months ago.
I was in pain within 24 hours of taking Warfarin, I kept taking them for 4 weeks and then decided that I just couldn`t live with the pain in my joints anymore.
I eventually I went back to my GP and he got in touch with the specialist at the hospital who prescribed Pradoxa. I have now been taking this medication for two months and I don`t get any pain or any other side effects whatsoever. My GP tells me that within five years everyone will be on this type of medication and Warfarin will be a thing of the past.
I have been on warfarin since 13 years with no side effects rather than rashes in the first two weeks , recently I'm suffering from body aches which my doctor refer it to lack of vitamin D Which will effect gradually calcium level in the bones
My personal opinion about my complains it is mainly related of anxiety and stress which I failed to manage
My advise don't think too much about side effects , warfarin is very useful and a shield from strokes , just keep it monitored and enjoy safe life
All the best
