Hi Tullowman,

Atrial fibrillation can cause the heart to race and this will be why your digoxin dosage has been increased to try to get it under control. If the increase does not work you can always ask your doctor to review your medication as there are other options.

EP stands for electrophysiologist. An electrophysiologist is a cardiologist who specialises in the 'electrics' of the heart.

Please take a look at the AF Association website: atrialfibrillation.org.uk/. It contains lots of information regarding atrial fibrillation and the available treatments.

You are also more than welcome to email Patient Services at patientservices@afa.org.uk or call us on 01789 451837 should you have any further questions.

Best wishes
