I have had persistent af for around 10 years, taking Digoxin, atenolol and warfarin, does anyone take digoxin and atenolol together , as I keep getting remarks from other doctors that it should not be taken together. I suffer from chronic fatigue on some days, wondering which drug is likely to be causing it, haven't seen a cardiologist since I was first prescribed them 10 years ago.
Appreciate any feed back, thanks.

Hi Mercman. I take atenolol and don't have trouble with fatigue, sounds like the cocktail is causing it. When in hospital with AF as an Emergency the consultant thought I might have been on digoxin but said to see my cardiologist when I was back home. He didn't suggest me taking both atenolol and digoxin together. I would urge you to see a cardiologist given the length of time since you last saw one so that he can review you and amend meds as appropriate. Good luck. Meadfoot.
Hi, meadfoot, thanks for your reply, I think perhaps your right, I think it may be the double whammy that's causing the sleepiness. Last time I mentioned I had not seen a cardiologist since my discharge 10 years ago, the comment was unless your unwell you've no need to see anyone, in other words " if its not broke, don't fix it"
Hi Atenolol is a beta blocker and they can cause the tiredness. I had to come off them because of the side effects and at the time I was not on warfarin
