Good eveningDid you ever feel normal after chemotherapy?
Docetoxel: Good eveningDid you ever... - Advanced Prostate...

Ever? Yes! Quickly? Nope! I was pretty droopy for a while after my last docetaxal infusion, but I felt better day-after-day, week-after-week. Try not to be discouraged!
Hi, in typical 3 week cycles I felt pretty normal in the third week. I believe in doing as much exercise as possible and leading as normal a life as possible, though I don't have the lung capacity that I used to. I - get short of breath particularly walking up hills, and this is worse in the first week after chemo.I was never sick on chemo - worst thing for me was the constant nasty taste in the mouth which was bad for about 5 days in mid cycle - need lots of cold drinks and suck mints.
I am not qualified to comment on Chemo but in regards to your feeling winded , etc. I experienced that after radiation. When they checked my blood it was abnormal. Think the the cause was anemia.
If you have not had a full blood work up then that maybe in order to rule out a blood issue.
Chemo did not do much to me long term, but it also failed. I had four sessions of docetaxel and had mild symptoms. Most stopped after a month without. Unfortunately that meant radiation was my next choice and I am not doing as well on it, I have extreme tiredness and pain.
Hope radiation will eventually work for you
After 2nd treatment I am finding after day 7 about 95% back to normal. Working in gym every 3rd day. Will be glad when done and is showing great benefits
Like others, the three week cycle was generally the day of infusion plus 24-48 hours after, felt "good." Why, the pre-infusion meds that were meant to prevent nausea, The next 3- 7 days, generally 7, felt the side effects. Then, back to "normal" until the next infusion and start the cycle again. Normal doesn't mean the fatigue went away, nor did the loss of taste,...
After the sixth and final cycle, life went back to normal, hair came back, fatigue went away, nails on the hand and feet also. To a large degree, while going though chemotherapy I more or less continued my normal lifestyle, went to the gym, rode my bike, travelled a bit, played basketball with friends...once I was done, I would say by 1-2 months, back on course.
My experience, not everyone else's.

I was on lower dose of docetaxel for 5 months every 2 weeks. About half was thru my balance and walking gait got poorer and poorer. Further, my eyes started tearing constantly running down my face. This is a well known and poorly advertised side effect where the chemo closes the tear ducts. Be very watchful and see an ophthalmologist immediately. Suggest you Google this issue. Good luck brother
I still have poor memory at times.
One toenail never grew back.
But I’m doing fine. Still breathing
Can’t complain
