This community has been a lifeline for me since my diagnosis in July 2024. Short timer, but you all have been invaluable. Thank you.
In my bio you can see that I had a rapid workup after a PSA in July that was over 30. The diagnostics were done well, and I sought a second opinion early on at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. My local urologist in my initial appts was too pessimistic for my tastes. Sort of old school. But I did meet other doctors and advanced care practitioners at the UW Madison Urology and Oncology departments who were top notch. Very impressive. The treatment plans they offered were SOC and the RO had an aggressive 'hit it hard' approach.
I chose to be screened and volunteered to be part of this study. clinicaltrials.gov/study/NC...
My treatment plan will run it's course based on the trial requirements. 12 weeks of the drug, followed by the RP. I'm glad to be in the treatment arm. 😏 I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.
To all of you who have suffered with this disease I offer my empathy. It's been difficult for me to resume living, but now that I have a plan, I'm breathing easier. Many of you have been good examples to me. Your candor, your good will, your humor, and especially your level of knowledge are inspiring.
But above all, your courage and resilience is what I find most inspiring.
💞From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all the best.
