My well-known MO, when I asked what he thought had the most potential for treatment/cure, said CAR-T.

Hi! CAR-T cells per se are nothing new, surely more than 20 years old, but the interesting part is the delivery and to maintain efficacy for a long time. These guys in the article I posted have engineered car-t cells that can be delivered in a highly targeted manner, which means less or no toxicity and side effects. With solid tumors, other than the risk of being killed by your own immune system in case of off target delivery, you have also the microenvironment that is hard to penetrate...but they are advancing! The article you posted is more related to the fact that India developed their own CAR-T therapy (so they save money) for liquid tumors like leukemia. There are at least a dozen of different approaches to CAR-T therapies that are being currently tested in solid tumors, all we need is one that works well! 😃😃😃
