It is my understanding that PCa bone mets are not normally marrow replacing. I've had bone mets for about 3 years. Recently some large bones have been diagnosed with marrow replacing lesions. I'm wondering how common this actually is with prostate cancer bone mets?

PCA and Marrow Replacing Lesions
Interesting - I've never heard of this differentiation. I've had bone mets for the entirety of my, uh, "journey" (going on 8 years), and the big ones to my femur, spine, and scapula are clearly intrusive into the marrow spaces. Is it important? Curious minds want to know! - Joe M.
Joe, you might be right; I may be harboring (another) misunderstanding. I had asked someone on my medical team if my anemia was a function of cancer in my bone marrow and I understood her answer to mean that there was a distinction between bone cancer and cancer in the bone marrow. If I get a clarification from my MO, I will add it here. Thanks for responding.
I've had anemia for almost all 7 years with my extensive bone mets. This anemia is caused by my ADT therapy. Lupron/Eligard. Maybe Xtandi? I think almost everyone here has anemia caused by medical drugs. The bone marrow thing is a whole new ball game and I know nothing. Wishing you the best.
