Pain post SBRT

I'm 59 w/ aPC (4+5) and 7 mets - all bone mets. Started on ADT (Firmagon and Nubeqa) in October 2023. Completed 6 cycles of docetaxel 4 wks ago. Started SBRT yesterday. My side effects thus far were all expected and I was prepared for them. Last night had severe back pain (8 out of 10) which lasted for 3-4 hours. It was not cardiac or bone pain per se'. Have any of you had similar side effects from SBRT? What side effects have you had from SBRT? I have 5 more sessions and would like to be prepared. Thanks.

I had fatigue , diarrhea and also food pipe infections so I took magic mouthwash for that. I can tell you side effects were so bad that I went emergency room once and get treated there so I can do more SBRT session better

SBRT to what? Prostate? Bone/Spine?

5 separate sessions scheduled. First was to rib and T3 and Prostate. Don't know dose.

Thanks for explaining. Radiation can cause inflammation/pain. Discuss with your doctor a Medrol dose pack to relieve the inflammation.

I had SBRT in 2019 (5 sessions) for an oligometastatic tumour. No side effects. I was told this treatment was only for a small number. If you’re having 7 done, that might explain the SEs. Good luck.
