In the home stretch of my EBRT fractions. Here’s the (sketched) comic page (page 50!) I’m doing to try to show what the process is like over 5 1/2 weeks. “Inked” version to follow. I’m going to superimpose counting down numbers over these panels.
Out of here next Wednesday! Woo!Hoo!

Thank you for sharing your fantastic comics. Apart from being so impressed by your craft, I find it relieving to relate to the weird details of our reality. Thank you!
Brings back memories...ugh...great skill and an effective way of gaining control over the process. One addition, perhaps: did you have some type of "restraint" holding your legs/feet in place so as to ensure the same position each time? I did. Also, on an emotional level: once the techs left the radiation area and I heard the door close, I felt such loneliness.
I remember the leg positioning things. Also, I had to strip to nude and got a tiny paper napkin to cover myself, which was fine of course, but which also added to the strange lonely feeling.
Those comics are so lifelike. I'm 4 weeks in to my EBRT with 3 weeks to go. Hydrating and getting your bladder just right is stressful each day! And you got the beam machine with the adjustable leaf just right! That looks like VMAT. I'm so glad when the machine starts buzzing away as I only have a few minutes before I can rush to the loo!
Yeah, I should be more realistic and informative about the bodily functions involved with this process (full bladder, empty bowels…) but my midwestern sensibilities make me more likely to be more euphemistic.
