Seems I've read very similar papers with very similar results dating back at least 5 years (and they were one of the deciding factors in the choice of treatment I made..) but - good news that things haven't changed.

Thank you for that Don, G10. 78GY over 39 fractions. 28 months on ADT, going to do 36. PSA 0.01 and feeling great, agree we made the right decision.
Here is a recent meta-analysis done by some prominent PCa Docs.

They looked more thoroughly at actual ADT completed by men.....not just assigned......and find that 19 months is optimal for overall survival. MFS, improves with longer ADT but other cause mortality , increases. Looking at the graphical continuous curves of ADT duration vs outcome, it appear that 12 months accounts for the greatest part of the improvement in results. Based on this study, I wouldn't go thru hell to complete much more than 12 months. .... if life was mostly good at 12 months , I'd probably continue to the 19 months......beyond that another matter. ADT has many negative impacts on men's overall health.
As opposed to the above post , this study found little advantage for increased RT dose.
Good luck!!
Good to hear. Thanks.I'm very glad that I had 78 Gray and 4 years of ADT. Not my decision, but my RO's.
He's Dr Suki Gill, at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Comprehensive Cancer Centre, Nedlands, Western Australia. A good bloke.

Stopping my ADT now, to see if I can get the benefits of returning testosterone without any recurrence of PCa.
🤔😉👍
This paper talks about high dose Radiation Treatment (RT higher than 72 Gy), but I found studies that show even low dose RT (LDRT) w long term ADT (LDADT) has significant benefits...albeit ADT does a number on you. But if its going to work and you need it, do it...just understand what your getting your self into and take appropriate steps to maintain what level of ED you can salvage, prior to proceeding...

This study looks at the outcomes and prognosis of RT w ADT, but looks at the PSA nadir achieved to project success. It also highlights the benefits of ADT post RT...
