As Patients Live Longer, New Criteria Needed for Prostate Cancer Trials

Thank god patients live longer, so we need new surrogate parameters to avoid slowing down research
without reading the link yet i have been bit$&ing about this exact issue. Have you noticed that very few trials on hsPCa? It’s because we live to long for the results thus the approval would take to long thus the profits would be delayed. I understand that but the FDA needs to allow parallel arms in these studies and cover any diagnostic testing to lower the burden on pharma and then we can get on with fast tracking these treatments at an earlier stage
well I partially agree...if I produced Pluvicto (for example) I would have many more clients if I could sell it to castration sensitive + castration resistant...even happier if I produced some pill that has to be taken for your whole life, the longer your life the more pills, so I would PUSH massively for early adoption, hence for trials.
There are some trials actually, also for the mentioned Pluvicto in a hormone sensitive setting. I think the problem has to be split in 2: if I use people who do not have other options (very late stage) it's ethically more acceptable to use them as "guinea pigs" and I am giving them a fair chance, and on the other hand the approval system with all modern technologies became a bottle neck, and this is a political problem....who will remove those limits, risking his political image? I don't know
