risk of Sbrt Mridian with inguinal hernia?

Kaiser misdiagnosed an inguinal hernia with possible bowel loop as ab strain. They changed their opinion after I insisted (for a month) they do a 5 minute ultrasound. No pain now, using a truss as recommended b my PCa bro Mike. Currently scheduled for mridian Sbrt 5 sessions at UCLA with Dr. Kishan first week of this September. While I’m waiting for his reply, any information whether I can even get Sbrt with this? Brief research seems to suggest exposed bowel could be hit with radiation.

As usual, thanks for your input and info.

They already did the planning for your treatment in September?

No, the planning is scheduled for August 24.

You cannot know the bowel dose without planning. Why are you not talking to Dr Kishan about this?

Will you have the hernia fixed before or after the SBRT???

I will probably have to put off surgery for the hernia till after Sbrt.

Also a Kaiser patient here. It’s amazing how quick they are to (mis)diagnose something and then the patient has to push back to get the needed tests and imaging. Happened to me with my PCa diagnosis.

The care I got at UC San Diego was vastly superior to Kaiser. KP is mediocre medicine for the masses.

Sadly, I agree.

when they do your planning scans and simulations they will be able to tell you exactly what organs could be at risk. MRIdian is the best available.

Dr. K and Ucla replied that they could plan and target around the bowel loop. Thanks for your responses, as usual I appreciate them.
