Thank you all! My husband now has tadalafil. I sent his Uro the research provided by Tall_Allen and others (also gave RO the same). He prescribed 5mg tadalafil. Seems nothing is easy anymore. Safeway was back-ordered on 5mg until late July, however, they had 10mg. Back to Uro for prescription for 10mg which we are now splitting. He also takes daily ibuprofen and continues to exercise.

Hubby has finished 8 of 20 RT sessions. Now, for a couple of hours after sessions, he has urgency and pees every 10 minutes. And today, he had the first uncontrollable BM, again within two hours after treatment. All this then seems to clear up. Today he learned he has to stick very tight to the bathroom for a couple of hours. After reading posts, it seems these urgency issues are probably quite normal. Hoping for the best on the rest of treatments.

What a great group you are!

Not unusual. Just to give you some hope though I am 4 weeks past radiation and all those symptoms are gone. Pretty much back to normal. Tell him to hang in there!

Great to know. My husband was starting to freak out over these unannounced events. I was glad I had been reading posts and was aware this was probably not unusual. Husband is very glad to know there is hope.

Hilarious but true according my husband. I'm not sure I needed every detail of this situation but am hearing all from Hubby.

I am on 42 of 44, it's not uncommon. Stay close to the tidy bowl man. It gets better and goes away. It's a 30 mile trip for me, Nascar would be proud of my times getting home.

why the Ibuprofen?

Tall_Allen mentioned it for inflammation. There is some research showing it may help the radiation kill the cancer cells more effectively. Someone posted that his Dr had him take ibuprofen the last 2 weeks of RT.

I did 33 salvage radiation treatments last summer. It was not uncommon to have to pull off beside the highway on my one hour drive back to work. It was only for the first two hours and ended within 3 weeks of completion. Never had the BM problem, thankfully. Good luck!

Thanks for your comments. Husband also has the 2 hour window. The BM issue seems to vary. Had big problem with it yesterday but didn't have it today. We removed a couple things from the diet maybe that helped.

My RO said to take Imodium if you get loose BM

Thanks turkey. He is at 12 of 20. I think he will have to do Imodium the 3rd and 4th weeks. So far he hasn't had much fatigue but I expect that is coming.

Fatigue wasn't real bad for me but it was there. A couple of naps took care of it.

Glad your fatigue wasn't too bad. Sounds much like my husband. He worked outside all morning and now taking a nap.
