Moving to a 6 month psa check

I wonder if anyone in this forum felt like they wish they would have stayed with the 3 month psa check rather than moving to 6 month psa checks

I get my PSA once a year. PSA 39.5 in 2000 before the Radical. Now 0.17 last year....going for my annual next week. This PSA can make us all crazy and really it was. I became very self destructive, I miss the intimacy with my wife. This changed 23 years ago. Yes I am happy to still be here. I still miss sex and the loving.

the most important metric to watch for his PSA doubling time. If the doubling time at three months is within six months, according to what I read, you’re in good shape. I have now started a three month cycle for a year and will move to six months as long as my doubling time is good. that’s what I understand.

I’m still on the 3 month plan even though I have been non detectable for 14 months. Even if my MO said let’s go to 6 month intervals I will stick to the 3 month tests.

You can have your PSA done however often as YOU wish. For me I cannot see a time when I won't get it at least 3 or 4 times a year.

I prefer the 6 week check for CMP, CBC, PSA and testosterone and 6 mo check on vitD sometimes B12

I'm a three month guy.......they cost me only 5 dollars after insurance plus being 5 years after surgery and radiation I want to keep abreast of it....at least until 7 years out. At this point I'm only nervous a few days out and of course the day after. So far the results have been good thankfully.
