GoodRx is relatively inexpensive as well. As low as $139 for 120 250 mg tablets where I live.

switch to the generic, abiraterone. If still too expensive with his insurance, use one of the excellent companies mentioned in other comments. Ie. He doesn’t use his insurance with those.

Pay cash using generic-only no-insurance pharmacies like Scriptco and cost plus. I just paid Scriptco ~$300 for three months of abi (360 tabs @ 250 mg each). Plus a membership fee and shipping. Set up an account, have your doctor send the Rx, and wait a couple days. Then check your mail. I just added an Rx of my wife that was going to cost $200 at CVS and Scriptco is going to fill it for about $10. When an Rx is available as generic and not tier 4, this is _the_ way to go.

two days ago I received an email stating that my generic Zytiga co-pay increased from five dollars a month to $2200 a month. Most manufacturers including the generic manufactures have some form of co-pay assistance. It’s easy to sign up for it, and most of them don’t even ask financial questions. Janssen care path is one route, but there are many others. I had to spend a couple hours on the phone talking to various people both at my specialty pharmacy and a co-pay assistance program but my co-pay is now zero dollars.

where are you located, my dad switched from cvs to an online pharmacy and it’s a couple hundred from thousands thanks to the donut hole. I would love to look into it for you if you’d like. You can pm me or respond here.

Also any word on Mark Cuban’s program? It looked promising.

cost will go up at 1st of year because insurance starts over each year--have to meet deductible but after 1-2 months you are in catastrophic level if on Medicare. Then co-pay goes way down.

There are a lot of funds out there that will help--mfg won't help Medicare recipients. search for financial assistance for prostate cancer
