Well folks, I am approved and will begin Pluvicto treatments 10/14.
The most difficult part of this is I must travel from north Alabama to Athens GA for the treatment which is over fours hours each way. And that means I must go through Atlantageddon.
I will go over the day before and stay for first treatment slot the next day.
My wife is upset about precaution listed for no one riding in vehicle with me after treatment.
Of course they realize that in certain cases the patient will need assistance.
I also don’t know how I will respond to the treatment although what I read doesn’t sound too bad.
Can anyone share their experience please.
As always, thanks for all the help.

I had my first dose on August 30. Outside of feeling "unwell" for a few days, I was fine. I was able to do my daily tasks, etc., but I just felt like I may be coming down with something. After those few days, I was back in the game! My next dose in October 12.
I know about the close contact precautions. Are you able to drive yourself to treatment? Maybe your wife doesn't need to travel with you.
I have hundreds of pound of sheet lead. Maybe I should keep a thin sheet of lead up between my wife and I when traveling if I get Lu-177 treatments... I wonder if I should use my thin or thick sheets of lead.
re: Atlantageddon. My Brother lives North of Atlanta and for whatever reason 11am seems to work for us when visiting. Everyone is at work by 11, and lunch traffic has not begun yet. 11am is a good time. It has become like Los Angeles these past 15 years. More importantly, Best of luck with Pluvicto and your 4 hr solo drive. 🍀
Up until now basically no side effects. He has been coughing more lately so I worry about the Pluvicto affecting his salivary glands as he gets more treatments. They aren’t taking any precautions like icing the jaw or sucking hard candy which may not help anyway.
You can read my other posts on here for more info. I can’t be in the room during the infusion so don’t know what goes on. They start out with a warm blanket and he enjoys the pampering.
Grumpy doesn’t drive due to Parkinson’s Disease but most men would be able to drive afterwards.
I had my first meeting with Athens and was told my wife could sit in back seat in passenger corner while I drove after the application. This was from MO, will speak with RO in two weeks so info might change.
My husband just had Pluvicto #2. We have a 2-3 hour drive each way. I ride in the back seat - passenger side on the way back. We manage to hit rush hour every time. So far, so good. No real side effects yet. A little fatigue. He's tolerating it so much better than chemo. The infusion takes about 20 mins, and then he waits in the same room for 2 hours with a CT scan to follow. This last treatment they turned the chair so he could watch TV while he waited. But he was ready with a magazine and a podcast to listen to just in case.
Best of luck to you! Safe travels to you and your wife.
