Getting radiation therapy on spine. Anyone with similar story?

First of all just want to say thank you to everyone for all of your experience/advice, this community is has truly been such blessing for my family and I as we go through this journey.

Right now my father cannot walk and is getting radiation therapy to treat mets on his spine. At this point the oncologist said the next step is to get Chemotherapy after the 20-something radiation sessions.

They said it also has metastasized to the lungs. I just want to know what may be coming next after the radiation therapy on the spine.

Does anyone have any similar stories, suggestions, or advice?

Thank you again, wishing all of you well in your journey!

Why so many radiation sessions? Perhaps a neurologist recommended that because of spinal cord penetration? Previous compression fracture?

The chemo will probably shrink the lung metastases too.

Tall_Allen has provided good information. Cheers, Phil
