My MO told me to begin taking 1000 units of vitamin D. All I can find is D3. Is that what he was referring to? Thanks.

Probably. MO tests bi-monthly for D3

There are 2 forms - D2 and D3. D3 comes from animal sources and is more potent. D2 from plant sources. Sometimes doctors used to prescribe D2.Unless you have some issue with it being sourced from animals, D3 is the preferred source.

Because your doctor didn't subscribe D2 explicitly, I would assume he meant D3.

Ask if you should take vitamin k along with it. Together they help bones. Some come with the combination D3+K2 (mk-7)

The second best way to keep Vit D level good is by taking D3 + K2 . The best way is to lie in SunLight every day for an hour.
