Fasting before ext radiation ?

wondering if anyone has any opinions or facts about this.

Im just wondering if you would kill more cancer cells if they were in a fasting state or if they were fed and more active when the photons are hitting them.

Do it groundhogy! I did two 500 calorie days per my 8 weeks of imrt . Per my nat dr and a video called “ fast and live” the theory is that the already weakened bad cancer cells will be knocked off more easily. I bought into that. I’m in a 7 yr remission now . It worked for me . But , of course I did a lot of nutrients no sugar no animal proteins. I went from 233 and muscular to 165 and gaunt at 6 ft 3. I’m now 195. They say that we can’t starve pc out. Thank God i have so far . This thing will get us all in the end if the heart doesn’t go out first? Good luck . Live healthy. Everything we doNow matters . Best of luck 🤞🙏 Scott

Great interview, T. I love this:

Dr. Dorff: They fast for 48 hours on a fasting mimic diet, which means they get vegetable broth and an energy drink. So, it’s a liquid, low calorie diet. It’s hard, so that’s part of why the study is still ongoing.

For certain, fasting/fasting mimic is one of those activities - and I count it as such - that requires a specific mindset. I try to incorporate it routinely, but it is SO easy to fall off that low calorie train and end up in the guilt gutter with {insert your guilty pleasure here].

Assume that the PC cancer cells are eating all that they want and growing continuously. That’s what they do. You cannot starve them, only the healthy non-cancer cells of your body. Best thing is to get your radiation done as soon as possible now. ( Brachytherapy with or without IMRT to pelvic node beds?)Intermittent fasting or FMD occasionally is good for your body in several ways as long as your underlying nutrition is otherwise excellent. It is not starvation. I know of no evidence that it improves the outcome of RT.

There are several natural substances that have shown radiosensitizer effects. You can discuss with your RT. But I would suggest you do not delay treatment further. PC is relentless.

Google Dr. Valter Longo at the USC Norris cancer center. He has ongoing clinical trials on this very subject.

There are several varieties of mushrooms that will radio-sensitize the cells. You might Google which ones are best and appropriate for your circumstances. Curcumin too.
