Can I get PSA testing without my doctor's request?

Did my own labs since 2010, when I had a 4.1 PSA , but didn't retest til 2014 and it was 555, 10 days later at 635. Dx'd in 2015 at 840.2 and now still here 7 years, 32 chemos later

When I was in Florida the local lab had a low cost testing day on Tuesdays and a PSA was only $7, no doctor's order needed. You should call some local labs and see who offers the best price on a PSA.

I don't know where you are located but there are labs that will do tests without a doctors script. However, the test may show different readings then you will get through the doctors office. Different labs will show different results.

If you are in the US, you can get any blood test offered by Life Extension.

I have had results in under 24 hours. Order by phone & get a Requisition by email. Take it to nearest LabCorp. LEF will email results.

You probably can if you want to pay for it yourself. Most labs require a doctor's order though. With PSA it is the rate of increase at certain intervals that makes a difference. Testing too often is usually unnecessary.

Just had it done in Sioux Falls SD using info I gained from this site. Had the numbers in less than 24 hrs. It was about $80.

I use ultalabtests.com . You get a standard PSA test for around $13+$8 blood draw fee if you have a discount code. Try using ULTA0615. You can book it online and go to a Quest Lab center of your choice. Results are posted in MyQuest site or on this site in 24 hours. Saves on insurance copays and doctor's visit fees.

Quest Diagnostic has retail direct purchase that includes one of their doctors rubber stamping approval to get test. It's about $76. The lower limit was .1, however, they recently updated lowest reading to .04.

Getting my own labs was how I was diagnosed in 2018. There are many pay as you go labs available.

Yes, there are various private places you can get tested for a lot of different things.

Yeah I have. You have to pay for it yourself though. 10 years ago it was 50 bucks.
