What Are The Best Prostate Cancer Research Charities?

Besides Malecare (of course), what prostate cancer research charities are Malecare members donating to? I've donated to American Cancer Society, Zero, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and had a bad experience with Prostate Cancer Foundation. What are the best charities to support that are doing or funding prostate cancer research?

I would donate directly to the hospitals that do research. Johns Hopkins, Dana Farber, Mayo Clinic, etc

Just as an FYI, Malecare earned its second medical device patent two days ago, on a entirely novel predictive and interactive diagnostic system. We’ll have a full announcement in August. I don’t know of any other cancer patient advocacy nonprofit that has Malecare s scope of innovation, university collaboration and peer reviewed papers. Donations accepted at Malecare.org/donate

What was your bad experience with PCF?

I guess it wasn't a big deal, but I found them on the internet and sent a fairly sizable donation to them unsolicited. About 8 days later I got a letter from them in the mail, so I thought it was an acknowledgement of my donation, but it was just a solicitation to donate more money to them (their so-called annual fund, which all charities seem to be doing all the time now). It just kind of irked me that they couldn't be bothered to at least acknowledge that I had already donated to them and they were already requesting another donation 8 days after I sent the previous one. I never did get an acknowledgement from them, just a bunch of additional requests to send more donations since then.

I know this is not unusual for some charities, and everything is computerized and impersonal now, but it still seemed like a poor way to treat their donors in my opinion. They could at least have included a thank you with the request to send another donation immediately after getting my first donation. Most charities I give to generally acknowledge that they received my donations, even if they are already asking for another one. Maybe that is asking too much nowadays, and I am just living in the past when organizations were more appreciative, but that was what I am calling a poor experience.

MaleCare, American Cancer Society, Sloan/ Kettering. On a different note to help those in need of our medicine to stay alive donations are put to very good use to those in need of it by donating to grant sites such as The Assistance Fund, P.A.N. foundation, Patient Advocate, Heathwell foundation. They all help with the grants for the extremely high costs of Cancer treatments.
