BCR seems to be back after RT

This week after 7 months of PSA slowly dropping it decided to double in 30 days. New scans show recurrence in my ischial tuberosity and my #10 rib (right side). Don't know what to do now as the 'sitz bone' has already been zapped once. That met has doubled in size from 1.3 cm to 2.8 cm. I guess the RT to that met didn't do the job although it did slow it down for a few months. Off to a dr's appointment today with MO to discuss what is going on and I sent results to my RO for him to review. Wish me luck. Damned pain is starting to be with me all day now..

I think you could re-irradiate the met with SBRT.

You can get your sitz bone re-zapped to relieve pain. See Question 4:

Good luck moving forward. My husband's been using zytiga for bone mets for about 14mos now--as well as zapping, seems to be holding. Maybe an alternative?

Thinking of you and hoping for the best. There are more tools in the chest for you. Something should help you out. Let's see what your MO says.

Sounds like you have a good team I am sure they will have a solution for you. Still plenty of tools in the tool box.

Well my MO meeting went OK. He agreed if I want to try RT again before changing any meds it was OK with him since only 2 bones seem to be involved. Next weeks meeting with RO should provide more info for my road ahead. Life Is Good, but sometimes our roads have a lot of curves.

Hopefully the RO can irradiate the pain away. Will keep you in my thoughts.

Damn, Shooter. That is disappointing. Usually SBRT to oligo Mets sites effectively resolve them if treated to entire tumor volume at a high enough (ablative) dose. Zap’em again hard.
