Most probable your doctor gave you Tamsulosin or similar to improve urination but it can cause orthostatic hypotension which could explain your fainting. There are other dugs ,5-alpha reductase inhibitors, such as Proscar or similar which could reduce the size of the prostate but may take time to improve urination.
Orthostatic hypotension. Yes I was gifted with that lol.
Thanks to our forum someone mentioned dizziness from flomax.
I had spells and huffing puffing, weakness and pounding heart from going upstairs or other physical tasks.
One time I checked my BP when experiencing it in the extreme and BP was very, very low. Dr. and I thought it was slight dehydration.
I stopped taking it and my 2 to 3 times a night peeing didn't increase luckily but it did eliminate the dizzy, dilapidated spells I was having.
I had thought crap when am I going to finally recover from chemo but it was the Flomax/Tamsulosin.
Flomax will not reduce an enlarged prostate. The drug is relatively safe. Serious side effects are very rare. I have taken 4 mg twice a day since April 2003.
Disturbing is that you do not want to help yourself. You have no record of what drug that was prescribed. Your refusal to go back to the prescribing physician is baffling. Good luck.
Find a Urologist who is qualified to do the Uro-lift procedure. I had it done in September of 2019, and it's one of the best decisions I've made. A very minor surgical procedure with minimal side affects ( took me 2 days to recover from them)..My Urologist put in 7 implants cause of the size of my prostate .I now urinate like the proverbial race horse...BTW, I've been on the drug Dutasteride .....
