I have blood in urine now. Is this the result of radiation?

Hematuria

Make an appointment with your urologist. I can tell you my husband & others I know have had serious episodes of what is called, I think "Radiation Cystitis." Radiation can damage healthy tissue, which doesn't heal completely & can cause bleeding many, many years after the treatment. My husband still struggles with that. Go to urologist!

Yes, blood or clots in urine is one of the possible outcomes of radiation treatment. It took 16 years to show up for me. I've had three incidents in 2 years, always over in 1 or 2 voidings. My urologist scoped me the first time and found nothing; mentioned possibility of cystitis and/or bladder cancer. These short shots of blood don't concern him much, but he says if I get a day or two of bleeding we need to have a serious exploration into the cause.
I have the same, blood in urine. Test showed presence of bacteria as well. Uro prescribed Nitrofurantoin, Tranexamic Acid, Tamsulosin, and drink plenty of water. Diagnosis: radiation cystitis with UTI.
Hi
I had the same thing two years after SRT - first response was a high definition CAT scan of the blood supply plumbing from the kidneys through to the bladder that showed no leaks, followed by a cytoscopy when it happened again. The urologist said there was very minor radiation damage but absolutely no sign of cancer or polyps - so I should just accept that it may occur from time to time.
Since then I have often gone weeks/months with nothing, but then a day or two with some blood visible - the latter seems to loosely correlate with me being very active and/or getting dehydrated.
The cytoscopic examination was no big deal, and very reassuring.
I had the same problem 6 or 7 months after radiation. My doctor suggested hyperbaric oxygen therapy. After 40 treatments it cured both my blood in urine and stool.
Howard we need more history from you, to answer your question....
