Xtandi

My pharmacist called me the other day and told me that Xtandi is now available in 80 milligram tablets. Is this something new or is it just reaching us in the hot, humid, Deep South?

Hello, Must be something new because my Xtandi (enzalutamide) comes in 40 milligram capsules. Perhaps you only need to take two a day instead of the four like the rest of us poor blokes in the north.

I started on Xtandi last week as part of a clinical trial. The MO told me that the 80 mg size is now available. That size may not be covered by insurance. He believed the 40 mg capsules could be harder to swallow. But, when I opened the bottle in front of him, he was pleasantly surprised that the 40mg size now comes in small pills. Insurance paid out $10k for my one month supply.
