My husband has advanced metastatic bone cancer. In the middle of 10 treatments of radiation. Wondering what most of you use for pain?

Pain from bone radiation is expected for a week or two because of the inflammation it causes. If an NSAID like meloxicam isn't enough, talk to the RO about a Medrol dose pack.
Hello, I am on the home stretch of 10 sessions of radiation to bone Mets. 2 more to go. My pain levels have not been bad so far. Two Tylenol twice in a 24 hour period takes it away. I am hoping once I am finished it will subside more yet. I am fairly new in this journey.
can you give more details of the Diagnosis .
thanks
Prostate removal 2013, 40 rounds radiation. In 2019 PSA climbs. Bone scan/CT scan shows bone Mets in spine, rib, pelvis, sternum, shoulder. Started Erleada pills which seem to bring PSA down for about 4-5 months. Then PSA started to climb. Tried Provenge with not much success. Taxotere chemo for 6 treatments, Xtandi shots and Lupron shots. Started a different chemo last month. Now I’m 4 treatments into 10 of radiation. I see a pain management dr for a past back issue since 1995. Currently get prescribed Percocet, 37.5 mg fetanol patches, gabapentin 600 mg, and some days it just doesn’t help the pain. Leggs are so weak and feet swollen it hurts to walk. I feel like the radiation is helping some though. They are proceeding to get radium 223 started ASAP.
Ask his doctor, oxycodone, natural supplements, you could try tumeric for inflammation.
Drugs. Just wondering about others pain. I am currently on Percocet, fetanol 37.5 mg patches, gabapentin 600 mg. Which most was prescribed for a past back injury in 1995 through a pain mgt doctor. Several back surgeries And most days this medicine doesn’t stop the pain in my back. The radiation does seem to be helping some.
Try compression Sox.Try CBD oil under tongue, 40-400mg a day.
Norco pills, up to a dozen a day but cut back in favor of CBD. No side effects with it.
We are all very different and pain meds that work without serious side effects takes some effort.
Keep diary, manage dosage and schedule closely.

I was on fentanyl and loved it, worked great, but when they put me on Xtandi I had to switch to Ms Cotin, ( morphine ). Works ok but no high 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's funny, I am taking 62mcg/hour fentanyl patches and extra morphine tablets. In addition to 200mg Pregabalin. I am not experiencing any kind of high. But it controls the pain mostly
CBD and Cannabis do wonders for me -good luck
