Armidex vs E2 - The biochemical battle

While on BAT I discovered my E2 (Estradiol) was 170 (normal is under 40), so doc put me on 1 mg Armidex per day. After 10 days on Armidex, I had another blood draw and the E2 went down to 140. OK, progress, but I thought Armidex brought it down much more quickly.

Am I being impatient or should I ask for a dosage increase?

Side note, also taking Chrysin and DIM,

PS Doc is hopeful that after ASCO, the PSMA therapy will be approved. Maybe within months?

You can try exemestane (Aromasin) which is more powerful. It irreversibly inhibits the aromatase enzyme, so estrogen cannot be manufactured by your body at all. Arimidex is reversible.

Thank you. There is something about the word irreversible that gives me pause. Think I will give the current program a bit more time before jumping into that sort of thing

It inactivates the aromatase permanently - it's called "suicidal." At least, until your body manufactures more enzyme.
