Hi. G 3+4 10mm apical tumor treated with HIFU two and half years ago from peak PSA about 8. PSA results every 3 months bounce within the range from 1 to 2. Today's is 1.4. I'm happy to have had HIFU and can recommend giving it a go vs RP. I am not on ADT or any other prescription med. Before you ask it was done free of charge on the NHS. Cheers all...

HIFU Update
Dear TFBundy, Sounds like you have done well with HIFU. Was it semi-ablation? I am curious about your nadir? My husband is at 1.52 after a nadir of .19. His Uro says he should have an MRI and biopsy but he is a Uro who does not believe in HIFU. (We are in a rural place where none of the doctors know about HIFU.) The doctor who did the HIFU says wait until it hits 1.6 before any MRI’s or follow up biopsies. I have read HIFU is not considered a biochemical failure until it reaches 2.0 above nadir. Is your Uro good with your results? Thanks!
My PSA bounces around with highest of 2.4 lowest of 1.0 it was focal ablation which treated about 40% of the prostate. I think the higher ones are due to some minor BPH and as long as it drops back I'm happy. I get 3 monthly PSA checks, but a bit sooner after a higher reading so I can breathe again. I pretty much drive the testing. Always get a C-reactive protein test and try to keep it as low as possible around 1. If you have a high PSA take ibuprofen fur a couple of weeks to reduce inflammation and test again. I get annual mpMRI and anything suspicious gets biopsied.
