No CTCs/oligometastatic

If MDT eliminates all visible mets on a GA68 PSMA PET/CT scan and a CTC test is negative (I think that means no circulating micro-metastices). Is there a potential cure there?

No. It just means that the metastases are too small to be picked up on a PET scan, and cells are not spalling off from the tumors that are inevitably there. Think of detected metastases as just the visible part of your cancer.

Thanks, I guess it’s good that whatever tumors exist they are not spalling off CTCs

It’s great news👏🏼

Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) are another marker for pc patients. It's good to not have any detectable. Which test did you have?

Analytical Method:

Immunomagnetic CTC Selection and Enumeration

Method Platform:

CellSearch CELLTRACKS AUTOPREP System

Cell Search is FDA approved and finds CTCs that are Cytokeratin Positive (CK+). There are a few newer wet biopsy methods that are able to locate CTCs that are CK+ and CK-which you might consider having run. Please look into the Biocept CTC test. Good luck with keeping any CTCs on the run and practising social distancing! If you had a NO on your team that would be beneficial.

No, you can have metastases less than 4 mm and they will not be detected by the PSMA PET/CT scans. Having less than 5 CTC is a factor associated with better OS in patients with mCRPC initiating new chemotherapy treatment.

Thanks Tango

Cure is a BIG word, not to be used with stage #4 apc.. Nothing showing is great ! Congrats ... This is the odd psychology for us all . I’ve had no visible signs for almost five years now . I’m racked with the typical side effects of imrt and constant adt . I’ve had 3 T during this entire time .. Adjusting to life without t has its own set of charms . We should be happy you and I , that the beast is hiding for now . Stretch this out and live for the present . Good news. 🙏🏼
