The miracle drug was Enzalutamide (Xtandi) Here's a link to the story: mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/a... Here's the lead to the story: "Gary Hooker, 65, is one of the longest-surviving patients in the world treated with a breakthrough pill for advanced prostate cancer.

The former school caretaker was enrolled on a clinical trial for enzalutamide, which stops testosterone fuelling the tumours’ growth."

That's a valid question CountryJoe but individual circumstances and side-effects differ as can be attested by Loves2golf below and this entry: healthunlocked.com/advanced...

In short, it may not be for everyone, or, at least, consideration of their cancer progression, previous treatments, and side-effects make Xtandi problematic as a treatment for everyone.

Glad this drug worked for him. It took away my husband’s quality of life, making just walking difficult.
